guest dj slot this Saturday

I've been asked to do a guest dj slot by legendary Brighton club night Da Doo Ron Ron at their Beatles tribute night this Saturday (30th Jan). I will be playing some Ye-Ye cover versions of songs by the Fab4, plus a few Beatles related/referencing tracks, mixed in with other 60's girl-pop.

I'm gradually trawling my record collection and iTunes library for French Girls doing Beatles covers, but if anyone has any suggestions (especially dancefloor friendly ones!), please feel free to leave comments or email me: lamourelectronique[at]misspain.co.uk.
Thanks, Domx

Here's the info about the night itself (not sure if I'd necessarily describe myself as a "superstar DJ". I'll be on at midnight if you want to come and judge for yourself)

Da Doo start 2010 with a BEATLES (FEMALE) COVER VERSIONS SPECIAL! this Sat 30th Jan in the Komedia Studio Bar. Doors 11pm to 3am.

We're extremely chuffed to announce the late addition of a superstar guest DJ to the Da Doo bill this Sat. Dom Bradnum of L'Amour Electronique, Tonight We Fly and Miss Pain fame, spins a Da Doo set sprinkled with Swingin' Mademoiselles singing Les Beatles.

Alongside our usual, unique mix of GIRLTASTIC GROOVINESS fm the 50s to mid-70s, Da Doo DJs Chris 'Da Doo' King & Simon Bridger + Dom spin a lotta lotta FEMALE cover versions of Mop Top songs. Expect FAB 'n' GEAR interpretations from the eclectic likes of Ella, Dionne, Aretha, The Supremes, Mary Wells, Lena Horne, Ike & Tina, Shirley Bassey, Alma Cogan, Tamiko Jones and many, many more! And Your BIRDS Can Sing! Yeah! Yeah! Yeah!

more Charlotte and Serge

More Gainsbourg news...
There was an interview with Charlotte Gainsbourg in last Sunday's Observer.
And just yesterday The Independent ran a feature on the forthcoming Serge Gainsbourg film Vie Heroique.

And, of course, it looks like the film won't be released in the UK until September, and it will probably only then get an ultra-limited release. So we'll just have to make do with the teasers being released on the official website and YouTube, plus news trickling through via this fan blog I came across earlier today: gainsbourgfilm.blogspot.com.

B.B. + Serge = Bonnie and Clyde

Serge and Jane: Le Canari (Jane must have forgotten her P.E. kit that day, so Serge made her do it in her pants and vest)

Apparition de la Gueule (Serge's alter-ego rears his ugly head - a creepy hybrid of Frank Sidebottom and Mr Noseybonk)
